Festival on the Street of Photography

You are guaranteed to get even closer to photography, which is undeniably one of the most popular genres of contemporary art.
Between October 9 and 12, visitors are welcome at the Capa Center (8 Nagymező Street) and the Mai Manó House (20 Nagymező Street) during the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival. All day long, with extended opening hours, the two institutions offer a wide range of programs for all ages without admission. As a highlight of the festival (and its only ticketed program), photography-enthusiasts will also have the chance to attend pre-premiere screenings of Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado’s film The Salt of the Earth about the world-famous photographer Sebastião Salgado.

The first showing of the film entitled Salt of the Earth by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado about legendary Brazilian photographer Salgado, taking place before the first European showing. Light painting, sky projection, film screenings, exhibitions at the 120 year old Mai Manó House, archaic technologies, exhibitions changing every two hours, performances, concerts and guided tours at the exhibitions, costumed people photographed on the street, family day, museum education programs, Virus Evening, art market, picture show, contemporary photographers and photographs galore at the first Photo Street Festival.
Admission to the Capa Center and the Mai Manó House, as well as to the programs are free!
(The only program at the Photo Street Festival where you have to buy an entry ticket is the first showing of the film entitled Salt of the Earth by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado, taking place before the European first showing.)
