The exhibition is a collaboration between the European Parliament and the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center.

In 2020, the Hungarian National Blue Trail was ranked by National Geographic as one of the 25 most recommended travel destinations in the world.

Photographer Barna Burger, fulfilling a childhood dream, walked the 1,180 kilometers of the National Blue Trail just ten years ago. The photographer’s camera captured the beauty of nature and its surprising oddities. Stunning landscapes, familiar and unfamiliar people, surprises and even small, beautiful details emerge from the pages of this diary, which as a whole presents a spiritually powerful picture of the country we call Hungary. Through Barna Burger’s extraordinary photographs, we can see Hungary with the beauty of insight.  A country that, together with the people who live in it, shows us both the beauty of the landscape and the coexistence of its built and natural heritage.  The photographs and the special installations along the twelve landscapes of the National Blue Route not only show the route of the tour, but also lead from recognition to cognition, with lights, sounds, moving images and the beautiful, soothing and fulfilling world of the forests. The exhibition was produced in cooperation with the Hungarian Museum of Natural History.

The exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Capa Center, the Hungarian National Museum Public Collection Centre, Budapest – Hungarian Museum of Natural History, Müpa Budapest, Enikő Győri MEP and the Patriots for Europe Group, in the framework of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
