CAPA105

As part of the CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center celebrates its eponym, the Hungarian-born Robert Capa - who was born 105 years ago - as well as the fifth anniversary of Budapest’s visual arts institution with a unique outdoorn installation.

Besides highlighting the photographic oeuvre of Capa, the installation also offers a glimpse at his personal life in the heart of Budapest throughout CAFe Budapest from October 5 through October 21, 24 hours a day.

Date: October 5, 2018 – October 21, 2018
Venue: Elizabeth Square (Erzsébet tér), CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival
No entrance fee.

The container space set up on Erzsébet Square presents a special photowall installation of 105 Capa images, while it also invites visitors’participation by reenacting one of the photojournalist’s famous activities – reading in the bathtub – via an interactive installation. You may also hear Capa’s voice, see his handwriting, and find familiar or lesser-known details of the lift of the ”maverick from Budapest.” Those visiting the installation can also take home a card with a famous Capa quote as well as a vouched for discounted entry at the Capa Center’s exhibitions.
