The exhibition opening is free of charge. During the exhibition period, tickets can only be purchased on-site. Admission is free for residents of Terézváros with a valid address card.
There are few cinematographers whose shots are neither showy nor loud, yet they burn into our eyes, and even penetrate somewhere deeper within us, evoking feelings and emotions. I believe this is because Robby Müller put his entire being into each shot. He never sought to mesmerize with technique or virtuoso solutions – which often hide the person behind the camera from the viewer’s eye – but he knew how to film humanity.
This empathy and attentiveness is also reflected in his photographs. Many of the images capture moments that would, a second later, perhaps unfold entirely differently: a car driving out of the frame, a bird that, who knows, was alive moments before the photo was taken, a fleeting lighting condition in a hotel room… These are everyday scenes – many of which we might recognize from our own lives – yet they never feel mundane. They transcend the ordinary, and that is Robby Müller! Although he rarely appears in the images himself, he always managed to include his presence somehow, beyond the visible.
