Katalin Kopin
Curator, art historian
She received her master’s degree in Art History and Communication from the Faculty of Humanities at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2006. She spent a semester as a visiting student at the University of Trnava and Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca on a CEEPUS scholarship. Since 2005, she has regularly published in art magazines, with her writings appearing in Fotóművészet, Új Művészet, Artportal, Flash Art, and Punkt.hu. From 2010 to 2023, she worked as an art historian and museologist at the Ferenczy Museum Center in Szentendre. Since 2022, she has been the artistic director of PhotoLab, a photography exhibition space. She has been a curator at the Capa Center since January 2024. As a curator, she has worked on numerous solo and group exhibitions, bringing contemporary art and photography into dialogue with one another. She is also the author and editor of catalogues and monographs. She regularly participates in roundtable discussions as a moderator and is the moderator of the Capa Center’s DokuMa series. She is the curator of the permanent André Kertész exhibition. Her main area of research is contemporary photography, with a particular interest in new directions and trends in documentary photography.
