Join Jörg Colberg for a talk on the photobook as an artistic medium, outlinin its basic properties and showcasing a few examples of particularly well-made books.

Within the framework of the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center’s program called CAPA VISA, leading foreign professionals in the field of contemporary art and photography – visiting Budapest for professional or private reasons – present their activities, research areas at the Capa Center. The aim of the program series is to create an opportunity for knowledge exchange between international and Hungarian photographers, artists, heads of institutions, curators, independent professionals, writers, and editors. CAPA VISA programs are held in English.

Jörg Colberg b. 1968. is a writer, photographer and educator. Since 2010 he has been teaching at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the Rhode Island College of Design, the University of Hartford, and Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin. His writing has been published on his blog CPhMag.com as well as in photography magazines, catalogues, and artist monographs. He is the author of Photography’s Neoliberal Realism (MACK 2020) and Understanding Photobooks (Focal Press 2016). / His first photobook, Vaterland, was published by Kerber Verlag in 2020. Jörg Colberg lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA.
