PHOTOSTREET FESTIVAL 2016

A celebration of photography with exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, activities for kids, PHOTOshop, concerts – for three days in the Photo Street of Budapest in the framework of the Budapest Spring Festival

Between April 22 and 24, visitors are welcome at the Capa Center (8 Nagymező Street) and the Mai Manó House (20 Nagymező Street) during the Budapest Spring Festival. All day long, with extended opening hours, the two institutions offer a wide range of programs for all ages without admission. Photography-enthusiasts will have the chance to party to images of today’s Budapest while dancing to tunes of DJ Bootsie, or (as the only ticket program of the festival) attend premiere screenings of a documentary about the controversial American photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe as Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures is shown four times during the festival in English (with Hungarian subtitles). A unique feature of this year’s festival is that it is literally moving out into the street of photography and showcases its miniexhibitions and interactive installations in and around shipping containers, giving it an urban-spectacular feeling.
